Lewis and Clark Junior Marksmen

 Junior record holder, Sam Lamping, 15, assembles the aluminum bi-pod on his Savage .308 caliber competition rifle, Monday before a practice shoot at the Prickly Pear Sportsmen's Association shooting complex up Macdonald Pass.

 Lamping lays in a prone shooting position, firing rounds at an 8 inch steel gong at 400 yards. Lamping currently holds the 600 yard record.

 Andrew McCain,16, steadies his rest during a practice shoot Monday. McCain currently hold the junior record for a 1,000 yard shot.
